2013 Varsity Turkey Shoot
When: October 12, 2013
What is a Turkey Shoot?
Each team will consist of five members. One member may be an adult leader.
Each shooter will shoot twenty-five clay pigeons. The shooter will fire one round at each target. Targets are provided; We will provide guns, eye and ear protection. However each participant must provide his own shells.
Sharing of guns at the event slows down the process.
Shotgun Shells are NOT available for purchase at the Lee Kay Center. (Bring your own)
If your LDS Stake would like to sign up for this event, please provide a separate unit number for each time slot reserved. DO NOT register your entire stake under one unit number.
Cost: $50.00 per team (Maximum of 5 per team) through October 8, 2013
$55.00 per team after October 8 and at the door
No refunds after Oct 8th, 2013

We suggest teams practice before the turkey shoot.
This will not only increase your chances of scoring well for the prizes,
but will also give you an opportunity to learn gun safety in a less crowded
atmosphere. Gun range orientaion will be mandatory before shooting.
What to Bring
1. We will provide shotguns or you can bring your own
2. shotgun shells for each shooter (25)
3. We will provide Eye and Ear protections for each shooter
4. Registration Receipt
5. Warm clothes and a snack
At the Event:

Remember the three rules for safe gun handling
1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction
2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to shoot.
Teams waiting their turn to shoot should keep their shotguns in the racks provided.
Be familiar with the operation of your shotgun before attempting to use it.
No horseplay on or near the firing line.
No turkeys are harmed during this event
