D10-Olde English FortOrder of the ArrowWhat is Order of the Arrow

The Order of the Arrow is the Honor Society of the Scouting program.

The Order of the Arrow is dedicated to the service of others.  We serve the community by providing more than 18,000 hours of community service every year.  We are also dedicated to promoting leadership skills to our members.  There are many opportunities to fulfill leadership positions in the chapters and lodge levels and improve leadership skills in the troop.  We also offer specialized leadership training programs including intensive week long leadership courses available only to Order of the Arrow Members.

Now is the time to recognize the Scouts in your Unit for the Skill, Knowledge and Service they have given to your unit, your neighborhood and their school.  These are the boys who as a new Scout wants to help him on their first camp out, the Scout who know Scout Spirit in all he does.

The requirements for membership into the Order of the Arrow are:

   A.  First Class Scout

   B.  Fifteen (15) days of Scout Camping, to include One (1) weeklong summer camp

   C.  Unit leader Approval

You also need to have one-half of your unit membership there.

We will come to your unit meeting place at a time good for you and take about fifteen to twenty minutes of your unit meeting.  We can also do an election at any District Campout.  We have a form that needs to be filled out with the boys names, address, phone number, rank and e-mail address.  If this can be filled out prior to the election, it will make things go faster.
