National Youth Leadership Training (Silver Moccasin)
Course #1 - June 9-14, 2014
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is six days of an exciting,
action-packed program, designed to provide youth with leadership skills and experience. NYLT focuses on what a leader must BE, KNOW, and DO.
This is then applied with a clear focus on HOW TO. These skills come alive as the participants go on a "Quest for the Meaning of Leadership."
Youth are taught in a team setting, immediately applying their new knowledge in a fun, safe environment. Concepts and processes are taught then built upon with the use of memory aids. This helps participants to understand and apply the leadership skills immediately.
NYLT is the best of modern leadership theory, combined with the traditional values of scouting. A wide range of activities, work, games, adventures, challenges, discussions, and audio-visual support will challenge NYLT participants to be engaged in leadership training that gives them the skills and the confidence they need to be leaders.
Course Fee: $160.00 per participant for registration before May 1, 2014
$175 beginning May 1, 2014
(Fee includes meals, patrol equipment, participant hand book,
T-Shirt, and program supplies.)

• Scouts must be at least 12-17 years of age and fall within the maximum age allowance for their program registration.
•They must be at least a First Class Scout and have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops. Check with your local district to see if they are offering
this course, if not your will need to complete this through your unit.
• Participants must have attended at least one long-term Scout camp of five consecutive days with your troop, on or before the beginning of the course. (Note: "family camping" does NOT fulfill this requirement.)
• Participants must have a unit leader recommendation.
Note: You are required to have a complete
Official Boy Scout, Varsity or Venturer field uniform,
(shirt, pants, socks, and belt)
with properly placed badges and insignia to attend.
*No on-site registrations accepted the day the course starts.
$50 deposit is non-refundable.
No Refunds after the fee deadline (one week before the course begins)
Before June 1, 2014 full course fees can be refunded (except the $50 deposit).
One week before the course or later, No Refund of course fees.
