THIS IS THE PLACE HERITAGE PARK PATCH

Each Cub Scout and leader who visits the park may earn the patch by completing the following requirements:

 

1.      While visiting the park, pick up five pieces of litter.

2.      Visit the monument and find the answers to the following questions :

a.     What Indian Tribe lived near this area?

b.     Name their chief who was close friends with Brigham Young.

c.     Who conducted the first scientific explorations of the Great Salt Lake?

3.      Visit the school and complete the following:

a.     What was the name of the new system of writing in the pioneer period?

b.     Write your name using this system.

c.     Play a pioneer game.

4.      Tour Andrus Inn and answer the following:

a.     Tell what chores children did at the farm.

b.     Why are the dishes upside down on the dining table?

5.      What animals did you see at the park?  Tell what they were used for.

 

Heritage Village is open:

Memorial Day weekend thru September 29

Mon – Sat, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Visitor Center, monument, and Statuary Walk are open year-round:

Mon – Sat, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and are free of charge

Admission:      $6.00 for children and seniors

$8.00 for adults

$2.00 for Cub Scouts and $4.00 for leaders in uniform

 

To take the carriage ride, regularly priced admission tickets are required.
