B. S. A. FAMILY AWARD |
The BSA Family Award Program is designed to help strengthen families, whether two-parent, single-parent, or non-traditional, in accomplishing worthy goals and in building relationships between family members. To earn this award, a family should obtain a copy of Cub Scouting’s BSA Family Activity Book, the primary resource for the program. The BSA Family Activity Book provides all requirements and step-by-step instructions on how to obtain the BSA Family Award. The BSA Family Activity Book is divided into five categories:
Each category includes several topics of interest to families, with suggested activities for a family to do together. A family must complete one activity from two topics in each of the five categories, totalling at least 10 activities, within 12 months. When a family has completed these requirements, they are eligible to receive an award certificate, patches for uniform wear, and/or pins for non-uniform wear. These items may then be purchased at a local Scout Shop. A pack may encourage and support families in pursuing this award through a volunteer family program chair. If a local pack does not promote and participate in the program, a family may participate in this program on its own through purchasing Cub Scouting’s BSA Family Activity Book at a local Scout Shop. All family members are encouraged to participate in this program and may earn the award. Family members may earn the BSA Family Award several times. |
