wood badge equipment list
Here is a list of the equipment you will need for Wood Badge.
As it may be cold on your course, please bring a warm coat, footware, hat and gloves. We will be sleeping in unheated cabins at Camp Tracy. A foam mat and cot will be provided. Please bring any other bedding you may need to stay warm.
Official Scout Uniform - REQUIRED
- 2 Scout Shirts (Long and/or Short Sleeve) (Scout Activity Shirts can be worn at specified times during the course.)
- 2 Pants or Shorts
- Scout Belt (web or leather)
- Scout Socks-3 or 4 pair
- Scout Hat (baseball type representing scouting program you are associated with, or council Wood Badge Cap)
Other Required Equipment
- Back Pack to Carry all Equipment
- Shoes or Boots (not white)
- Sleeping Clothes
- Towel, soap, personal toiletries - there are showers and electrical outlets
- Sleeping Bag (a good one for colder climates)* Pillow and extra blankets are optional
- Pocketknife or multiple tool type knife (no fixed blade knives)
- Compass
- Sewing Kit
- Rain Gear (poncho or rain suit)
- Sweater, Jacket or Windbreaker, Coat*
- Flashlight/Batteries
- Pen/Pencils, pocket notebook
- Handbook for your scouting program
- Extra Clothes, underclothes -warm clothes for cold climates
- Personal Medication in labeled containers
- Work clothes & gloves for service project day - 2nd Weekend on Weekend Courses
- Water Bottle

- Foam pad/Air Mattress - Camp Tracy bunks have a 2" pad
- Sun Glasses
- Extra change of shoes
