Pow Wow:

November 15th at Juan Diego Catholic High School in Draper. Annual Cub leader training put on by the council. It’s a great way to get trained, see new ideas and get excited about working with the boys. Sign up online $12 and don’t forget to order you Pow Wow book and CD for $11!

Varsity & Venturing

Have all of you been trained? If not, we would love to see you at District Basic Training. Also plan on attending University of Scouting on December 6th (see training for more information).

The Wasatch Peaks District Teen Leaders Council:

TLC is comprised of at least one Venturer representing each of the Zones in our District.  The TLC meets each month on Roundtable night to foster camaraderie and competition among Venturing crews in the District and to collectively plan the annual District Venturing Activity.  Our TLC advisor is Thayne Anderson, who has many years of experience in Venturing. 

Thayne and assistant TLC advisor David Rowley are looking forward to working with the TLC in planning an exciting Venturing event for Spring 2009. Each Zone is encouraged to contact Thayne at 253-1994 or Dave at 253-3620 and provide the name of a young man (or two) to serve on the District TLC.

Friends of Scouting

This should have been wrapped up. If you haven’t completed FOS please turn in to Chuck Farnworth (254-5420) as soon as possible.

Order of the Arrow

The “honor society of camping” will be starting up again in our district. Brian Young will be the chapter advisor. Please contact him at 254-4493 for additional information.

LECM  is every Third Thursday of every month. Chapter Advisors must bring or meet their chapter chiefs, anyone wanting a position on any of the many committees, or anyone wanting to learn outfitting and Native American dancing are encouraged to come. The Location is the same as last year. 5965 South 900 East Valley Mental Health Bldg. Salt Lake City.

There are Two service projects we need man power for as soon as possible:

Holiday Auction - Arrowmen needed to help set up (pizza will be provided) If you are interested in helping the Holiday Auction is on November 21st from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Contact Dave Halliday by E-mail at elkuta520@gmail.com

Holiday Auction

This is another way to support scouting. It will be held November 21 at the Salt Palace. $50 a ticket for a nice dinner and entertainment. Or donate items to be auctioned off. Please Call Gary Adams, 582-3663, if you would like to be a part of this event.

University of Scouting

Yearly training offered by the council for Boy Scout, Varsity and Venturing leaders. This year it’s at Murray High on December 6th. Cost is $15 before 11/30 and $20 after. Lunch is $8.00 and must be prepaid by 11/30.
