February 8-9, 2008 (Fri-Sat) | Time: 5P-7P Check-in | Wallsburg, Heber | Register Online

Thursday Night UPDATE!

With the incredible amounts of snowfall this year, the venue in Wallsburg is snowbound (closed) and inaccessible (there is 3 feet of snow!). We have acquired a new location! We are giving you the directions here.

Plan on camping in deep snow. You may want to bring some snow shovels to help clear an area for tents. Snowshoes would also be handy for getting around. Be aware, overnight low temperatures have also been dipping into the single digits so be prepared for a very cold evening.

Lastly, if any of you would like to volunteer or have assistants or other adults coming that could help staff some of the activities, please contact Dave Madsen.

Directions

Wallsburg City - We are no longer at the LDS Church property in the canyon southeast of Wallsburg. We will now be in the town which is 3 miles east off of Hwy 189 at Deer Creek Reservoir. Follow general directions to get to Wallsburg City, and continue through it. As you are leaving the town of Wallsburg, turn south (right) on Round Valley Lane just as 200 East is turning into Main Canyon Road. We will need to park along Round Valley Lane and then walk into the property. Please look for signs of the camp. We will hopefully have someone out there to meet you and give some more detailed directions.

We will have our traditional sled race and snow snake competitions. It is not recommended that regular sedan vehicles be used to make this trip. Please travel in Trucks, Vans, or SUV's. This will make the trip much safer.

Registration has begun online and with the council camp desk. Fees are $6 per youth and $5 per adult. There is a $1 late fee applied if registering after February 1st.

Extra Games and Prizes

Be sure to bring the Snow Snakes. These are long sticks that are made as smooth as possible looking much like a long snake, that will be tossed to slide in a snow trough to see how far they snake can go in the snow. The farther it slides, the better. Lookup Snow Snakes in Google to learn more.
