Training is the key to delivering the promise of scouting to the boys. Here are some upcoming training dates and training resources.
Council and District Training
Super Saturday - District training for all families of scouting
Date: TBA
Time: 8:00 am to Noon, Scouts and Varsity go until 3:00 pm
Where: The White Church, 160 South 300 East
Who: Cub Leaders, Boy Scout Leaders, Varsity Leaders, Venturing Leaders, Committee members
Fees: Boy Scout Leaders $5.00 for lunch

Where: Camp Tracy
Who: Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. Other Scouters are welcome to participate.
What: Nationally developed outdoor training for Boy Scout leaders. This is the final component required for basic training for Scoutmasters and Assistants.
Fees: $10 pre-registration, $12 at the event
More Information: Participants should bring their own tent and bedding. Cooking gear and lanterns will be provided. Fee includes Friday Cracker Barrel, Saturday breakfast and lunch plus course materials.
College of Commissioner Science
Date: TBA
Time: 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (Check-in starts at 7:30)
Where: Murray High School, 5440 South State Street, Murray, Utah
Who: Roundtable Commissioners, Unit Commissioners, Zone Commissioners, Division Commissioners, District Commissioners, Assistant District Commissioners, BSA/LDS Relationship Committee Members – By Invitation Only
Fees: $12 Early Tuition, $15 Regular Tuition

Online Training Resources
The national office has implemented online training for basic safety training and key leadership postions. Training is available for:
- Youth Protection Training
- Safe Swim Defense
- Safety Afloat
- Cub Scout Leader Fast Start
- Boy Scout Leader Fast Start
- Venturing Advisor Fast Start
To take an online course, go to: http://olc.scouting.org. You need the registration number from your membership card to create an online account. After completing a course, you will be issued a certification card for that course.
There is also a Varsity Leader Fast Start (which has not yet been added to the Online Training Center).
If you're curious about your scouting skills, you might try the Boy Scout Leader Assessment tool. the assessment takes about an hour and will help you determine your areas of strength and where you can improve your scouting skills.
