The Great Salt Lake Council is launching a major initiative to rid our community and neighborhoods of old, abandoned, and junk cars. Starting in August, Scout Units are encouraged to canvas their neighborhoods in search of old cars (running or not) which need removal. The Council has partnered with a local processing company which will provide a free towing service. The vehicle donor will receive written acknowledgement of the donation and a receipt for possible tax deduction.

- In connection with this project, the Council is sponsoring a contest. The unit which locates and has the msot cars removed will receive a fantastic Grand Prize package which includes:
2 - Four man "Kodiak" canvas tents
1 - Deluxe 2 burner camp stove
1 - Dutch Oven
A pizza party for the entire unit

- Contest ends December 1, 2008. Smaller monthly prizes will be awarded for September, October, and November. Grand prize package will be awarded for total cars donated throughout entire campaign.
