District Boy Scout Camping & Activities Committee Member

  1. Reports directly to District Boy Scout Vice Chairman
  2. Responsible for planning, promoting and carrying out of at least 2 approved District sponsored events per year. Events must be pre-calendared, planned in advance and have final approval by program committee effort.
  3. Recruitment of adequate Camping and Activities staff to meet the needs of the unit leaders at District sponsored events.
  4. Promotes the National Camping Award
  5. Becomes trained in Boy Scout program and is encouraged to participate in the advanced adult leader training (Woodbadge)
  6. Support and promote district and council activities
  7. Promotes participation in Council long-term summer camps to individual units.
  8. Helps unit leaders, as needed, to accomplish camping goals.
  9. Works closely with the Order of the Arrow (O.A.) Chapter Advisor to provide adequate service opportunities at district sponsored events.
  10. Set the example by wearing the proper uniform.
  11. Registers with the District
  12. Helps to achieve the Quality District Award
  13. Meetings to attend:
    1. District
      1. Boy Scout Committee - monthly
      2. Roundtable - monthly
      3. Camping and Activities committee meeting - monthly
      4. Recognition Banquet - yearly
    2. Council
      1. Coordinated Council Meeting - monthly
