	          2013 Varsity Biathlon 
 

	         Date:   February 1, 2013   
 
	                             for those camping overnight-gates open at 4:00 p.m. 
 
	                     February 2, 2013 
 
	                             day of the Biathlon - check in begins at 8:00 a.m.     
 
	   Location:  Fort Buenaventura, Odgen, Utah; 2450 South A Street 
 
	Directions:  I-15 north to Ogden.  Take the 24th Street Exit and go to the right.  
 
	                     Go approx. 1 mile and turn right onto A Street 
 
	                      (this is the last street before crossing the overpass). 
 
	                      The Fort is an extension of the old ball diamond. 
 

	        Cost:   $7.00 per participant if registered by 1/15/2013 
 
	                    $10.00 per participant if registered after 1/15/2013 
 
	                               Registration includes: 
 
	                               Fort fee, patch and use of snowshoes and rifles, 
 
	                               archery equipment and GPS devices. 
 
	                               All equipment required to participate in each 
 
	                                           event will be provided. 
 
	Who can Participate: Varsity Teams and Venture Crews (both scouts &amp; Leaders) 
 

	     Prizes:   First, second, and third place individuals (Scouts); 
 
	                    First, second, and third place individuals (Leaders); 
 
	                    Fastest overall team or crew. 
 
	 
 
	        Online Registration ends January 31, 2013 
 
	            You can register in person at the event on 2/1/2013 &amp; 2/2/2013. 
 

	The 2013 Varsity Biathlon is a snowshoe race.  
 
	 
 
	During the race the participants make two scheduled stops. 
 
	       Once to shoot black powder rifles and once to shoot bow &amp; arrow.  
 
	While waiting for your run times, teams/crews can participate in team building games 
 
	       and other mountain man activities.  
 
	 
 
	Overnight camping will be on a first come first serve basis at the event. 
 
	Overnight camping is availabe but not necessary to participate.  
 
	 
 
	This is a great winter activity including hawk &amp; knife throwing, 
 
	primitive firebuilding and other exciting events.
